Today elected officials, community leaders, local government reps, and food practitioners attended the first Central Florida Food Systems Tour to learn about our food system, from food production, distribution, processing, sale, and even food waste within Central Florida.
We traveled to Long & Scott Farms to look at 600 acre operation and the home of the Zellwood Sweet Corn before eating a beautiful fresh lunch provided by @seed2source and @sonnysbbq , toured the Edible Education Experience kitchen house and culinary garden, visited the wonderful East End Market, explored the Fleet Farming farmlettes, and ended the day discussing food waste at the Audubon Park Convenient Church with our friend Rob Greenfield!
@fleetfarming was delighted to see Congressman Darren Soto, representatives from Senator Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio, Commissioner Emily Bonilla, reps from local governments attend the entire day to learn about our agricultural system. A huge thanks to Hannah Featherstone Wooten, Caitlyn Glatting, and the UF IFAS team for the help in organizing this fantastic tour and everyone who came out. #GreenWorksOrlando #ifas #orlando #florida #fleetfarming #longandscottfarms #legislators #seed2source #thcitybeautiful
