This past weekend, I had someone say to me "That is really annoying that you are taking time out of your day to go to the gym while you are on vacation". That comment has really bothered me these last couple of days. It made me feel like my goals were stupid and they didn't respect them, which really upset me because this person is someone that I consider close to me. .

After a mulling over this comment for a few days, I came to the realization that it doesn't matter what other people think. It is my life and I am the one that has to live it. Even though this person is someone that I care about, we have different goals and different ideas of what is important to us. And that is okay. .

Not everyone is going to have same goals and aspirations as you. Therefore, they may not understand the steps that you are taking along the way. Do not let this hinder you. Do not let this make you question what you are doing. Set your goal and make sure everything that you do puts you on the path the achieving that regardless of anyone else's opinion. Just because someone does not understand your dedication does not mean that it is not worthwhile!

Ok guys, here's the deal. It's time to STOP MAKING EXCUSES!

I hear people all the time saying
. "I'm too tired"
. "I don't have time"
. "I don't have money for a gym membership"
. "I don't know what workouts to do or what to eat"
.

Well guess what, you will always be able to find a reason not to start doing the things you want to until you make the decision to just do it. There are a million and one "life hacks" out there that are supposed to make it easy to do this and that. But at the end of the day it is up to you to make the choice. Life is all about choices and you are the one with the power!

I make the choice to suck it up and go to the gym even if I'm tired because I know that I will feel better after words. I choose to make for my workouts in my weekly schedule because it is something that is important to me. I choose to fit a gym membership into my budget, however, if you don't have the funds there are plenty of workouts you can do at home. I choose to use the millions of free resources available to me to research what workouts and foods are best for me.

If you want to see results, you have to take actions. Excuses are a waste of time. To some that may sound harsh but its reality. You are capable of doing literally anything you want to. It will require hard work and dedication but it will come. No one is going to do the steps for you or just hand over the results you want.
.

Identify something that you have been wanting to accomplish. List out the steps necessary to achieve that goal and then take action. It doesn't matter how big or small the goal is, today is the perfect day to START!

Your morning routine will set the tone for the rest of your day so make it a good one! Now lets be real, if you have a job like I do where you start at 7:30am, its highly unlikely that you are going to wake up at 4:00am so that you can have an hour to mosey around the house before you get ready.

During the week, I work my morning routine into the process of getting ready. I wake up and immediately start my tea so that it can steep while I shower and wash my face. From there I put on a podcast while I drink my tea and do my makeup and hair. Podcasts are a must for me in the morning because they really help me get my mind focused on being productive. Once my makeup and hair are done, I move to the kitchen to make breakfast and then head off to the bus.

Now the weekends are when I really get enjoy my morning. Of course, I get my tea started. Washing my face really helps wake me up before I grab my tea and head to the couch to watch an episode of my current favorite tv show. If it is warm outside, I will opt to drink my tea on the roof and listen to a podcast or read to prepare my mind for the day. Depending on my plans for the day, after 30 min to an hour, I will head to the gym, get ready to go meet friends or run errands, or I might even just relax for a while longer.

Build your morning routine around what you enjoy and what gets you motivated to rock the day. It doesn't have to be an over night transformation. Start with one thing and do that, then slowly implement more things that interest you. I am consistently modifying mine, I am determined to fit some stretching into that routine soon.

This is one of my favorite snacks to have when I'm craving something sweet. It will fill you up, gets in a serving of fruit, and provides you with 11g of protein! . .

1 cup strawberries/2tbsp peanut butter/30grams dark chocolate nibs . .

You can replace this with any fruit you like, I also enjoy using bananas or apples.

Some close grip bench to work on my triceps which is currently a weak point in my bench press. Customized programming is all about identifying what you need as an individual person to better your performance. We all have different strengths and weaknesses.

Get a cute water bottle that you love. I always buy ones with straws because I am more likely to drink out of that than one that I have to unscrew. Set goals for yourself such as "I have to drink this many by lunch to hit the half way mark". .

I challenge you to drink 64oz of water every day this week and see how much better you feel! .

IM SO EXCITED TO BE BACK IN THE GYM! Yesterday was my first official day back on my program. I did 6 sets of 3 at 135lb and then an AMRAP set at 135lb and hit 9. .

Yesterday I had the worst squat session I've had in months. It was super discouraging, especially because it's a deload week and I'm not lifting heavy. I wanted to quit and just go home. But it's important to keep going and push through. So I finished the workout. It still wasn't the best workout but it was the best I could do for the day. Identify the problem and try to fix it. In this case, I was having a lot of pain and tightness in my right hip. I'm looking into ways to fix that instead of letting myself get down about struggling through my squats. PUSH THROUGH IT GUYS, YOU WILL GRT THROUGH IT. .
