Results of my Beaver Lodge's participation in #ukpw17 We've had a debate on what rules we want, why the rules are important, and what the difference between the spirit and letter of the law is. #parliamentweek2017#ukpw17#scoutinguk
Proud to have walked in a British Remembrance Parade with the Cub Scouts (and Mr. T) today. As a Dutch National I am very aware that if it wasn't for the Allied Forces risking their own lives to liberate The Netherlands my life and that of my grand parents and parents could have been very different. #grateful#lestweforget#scoutinguk#remember
Bear Grylls is an absolute legend. I aspire to have his faith, courage, strength and endurance. He has seen the world, taught people how to survive and raised (from what I can tell) a pretty amazing family... What a flipping legend 💫 . . . . . . I can relate to the part about being good at “throwing myself off things”... and walking on the edge of tall things 🙊 . . .
Just recently come back from an awesome Scout Camp where we camped through Storm Brian 🍃 🍃 🍃 🍃 🍃 1 of my favourite sessions was teaching the cubs and Scouts about the amazing #kellykettle I set up a competition between 2 teams to see who could make me a #cuppatea the quickest.
Both teams did brilliantly considering the wet weather conditions.
Today after the U.K. Team Beachbody Launch I took a train out of the city and headed to Gilwell Park Scout Camp which for those of you who know me, know it has 2 special meaning to me. First because in my youth as a younger leader I spent many a camp here and also help pack up and unpack the World Jamboree to Chile here. Secondly in working towards my Woodbadge and being asked to staff in 19-1 Woodbadge it all started at Gilwell Park. Gilwell has such a special meaning to me and to be able to walk the trails, remember my personal memories and absorb the history was a great was to spend an autumn afternoon. #woodbadge#gilwellpark#gilwell#scouting#thescoutassociation#scoutinguk#autumnafternoon
Fab visit to the Portishead lifeboat Station with the Cub Scouts tonight. Really interesting tour by some very knowledgeable volunteers and we were lucky enough to see the lifeboat actually launching and coming back in. That is NOT a standard part of the tour😉 #cubscouts#scoutinguk#rnli#volunteering
