Hello Amazing Yogis! 🙌Love all the progress I am seeing! ❤️For Day 16 of #MasteringHandstands we have #HandstandScorpion .
2 Handstand Scorpion Drills! .
❤️Drill 1. Place your yoga mat on the floor and the chair on top of the mat so that it won't slide. .
❤️Hold onto the legs of the chair. Dig your elbows into the mat and drag them towards the center of the room as you draw your chest towards the chair. Kick your feet to the wall. Roll your inner thighs towards the wall and lengthen your tailbone up towards your heels. Engage your belly by lifting your navel to your spine first to protect your lower back and then slide the balls of your feet down until you find the ledge.
❤️Once you are perched with the balls of your feet on the ledge re-commit to your alignment by rolling your inner thighs to the wall, reaching your tailbone up towards the backs of your knees and squeezing your inner thighs towards one another so that your knees don't splay out to the sides. Try walking one or both feet down to the seat of the chair and repeat the same work wit the thighs. .
❤️Drill 2: Sit on the floor facing the wall. Place the balls (not heels) of your feet on the wall. Measure the distance from the wall to your knees and mark the spot with something so you know where to place your hands. Place your hands where your knees were and kick up. Once your feet are on the wall straighten your legs and lengthen through your spine. Roll your inner thighs to the wall until you feel your butt relax. Pull your heart towards the wall as you pull your hands isometrically towards the center of the room. Once you've gotten your chest as close to the wall as it is going to go, bend your knees and walk the balls of your feet down the wall towards your head. Point your toes and place the top of your feet on the wall. Push your feet into the wall. Try to bring one foot to your head. The entire time try to roll your inner thighs to the wall and squeeze your inner thighs together to engage your core and protect your lower back. #angelasyogatutorials .
