What is an eccentric? The word itself did not come into common parlance until the 1660s but #eccentricity was the ground Force which drove the #Baroque in England in the 1620’s when The Eccentrics Pulled the #puritan-zealots to the pulpit to rage against their daring clothes & outrageous Artforms... the word itself did not come into common parlance until the 1660s but eccentricity was the ground Force which drove the #baroque and the #cultural & #scientificrevolution in England & still drives our fashion industry today Eccentricity it what is what makes a true artist and yet eccentrics themselves Have no idea of the stir their dress or actions arouses... As was the case with #OscarWilde who was applauded one day and imprisoned by that same audience the next... & to the day he died alone & unloved in a squalid room in Paris, he had no idea why. @daniellismore

The tension between the opposing views of Newton’s absolute space and time and Galileo’s relativity came to a head in an 18th century intellectual clash between Gottfried Leibniz and Samuel Clarke. Clarke defended the Newtonian idea of absolute space forming a fixed backdrop against which the events and phenomena of the Universe took place. He believed objects were either moving or truly stationary, and that they were only truly stationary if they were at rest compared with the backdrop of absolute space. On the other hand, Leibniz asserted Galileo’s basic principle of relativity in which an object could only be said to be stationary when compared to another object, and that there was no such thing as an absolute space forming backdrop that was fixed. Taking place between 1715 and 1716 until Leibniz’ death, the conflict encroached into philosophical and even theological matters. It followed a bitter dispute over who invented calculus (Leibniz or Newton) and it was widely assumed that Newton himself was behind Clarke’s replies. Although the concept of absolute space is now considered obsolete, Clarke’s arguments in its favour included important aspects of circular motion which had to be accepted and incorporated into the relational view of Galileo and Leibniz. The letters contributed to the development of our understanding of space and time and the exchange, which was published the year after Leibniz’ death, forms an important work in the history and philosophy of science. #leibniz #gottfriedwilhelmleibniz #clarke #samuelclarke #leibnizclarke #leibnizclarkecorrespondence #historyofscience #philosophyofscience #scientificrevolution #historyoftechnology #historyofmath #historyofmathematics #historyofphysics #scientist #scientific #scientists #scienceiscool #sciences #scienceexperiment #ilovescience #scienceclass #sciencegeek #sciencefun #calculus #physics #math #maths #mathematics #science #sciencesanctuary

Carolyn Merchant “The Death of Nature: Woman, Ecology and the Scientific Revolution” - my PhD supervisor Dr. Peter Dickens advised me to buy this book. Excerpt from “History and Class Consciousness” by Georg Lukács

The Top 3 primarily form the Foundation for the bottom 2 to come about but nonetheless important.

This is Western Civilisation and the essential fabric of it, there were many other influences but not to this scale.

1.We live in a time now where Greek philosophical reasoning is distorted.
2.We live in a time now where Roman Law is corrupted and post-modern architecture is ugly.

3.We live in a time now where the Christian Church is unbiblical and society is decadent.
4.We live in a time now where individualism has forgotten to be collective and liberty is under threat.

5.We live in a time now where we pursue bogus science and ignore honest research.
