Man, we here at @Science have way more in common with male gorillas than we thought. When the males of the species are chowing down, they have been known to hum and sing, which we’re assuming they do because food is awesome. This is their way of saying “Mmmm,” and they sing louder and prouder when they’re eating their favorite foods like seeds, flowers, and aquatic vegetation. Researchers hypothesize that male gorillas do this as a way to vocally signal the coordination of feeding activities in their group. Know someone who sings with their supper? Tag them in the comments!
