Some book spotting at the shop. This looks like an interesting read that could match my blog list today, about crazy literary school punishments.
It is said to deal with the inevitable hassles for both students and teachers to fit nicely in the educational system. I had problems way back, including the inevitable bell curve, in which students are urged to change themselves into a foreign version of what's 'normal' instead of being whats normal for them. I even pulled my kids out to begin a long stint of homeschooling, rather than risk them getting my same hang-ups for the same reason. It's seemed to work well for us. The older two have now moved on to Uni and work, and our 14yo is the last man standing 😊 I'll miss the lifestyle of homeschool next year, when he begins High School subjects through Open Access College.
Anyway, on my blog today I've taken a look at all sorts of wild and wacky attempts at school discipline in fictional stories, and even had a go at ranking them from best to worst 😉 If you like, see if you agree with my choices, and the conclusion I've come to about the effect of punishments in general, which seems to be evident across the board. That's one of the things I like about drawing on a wide range of material for lists. It's easy to stand back and see general principles.
