Ugh down to 7 days off my inhalers left. Time to, once again, shell out 475$ for three inhalers and be told by my insurance company that I should be grateful that it's not the full 225$ per inhaler. It's expensive to breathe in this country.
And, before people think "lose some weight and it'll help", I've had asthma since I was a normally weighted child and I was on corticosteroids then too. Because, guess what? Losing weight doesn't heal the scarring in my lungs from being unable to breathe, or being around second hand smoke, or air pollution, or just fucking genetics.
While I'm grateful that I can afford my $5,500 deductible and have an HSA I can afford to pay into, I'm tired of getting fleeced by these #pharmaceutical #companies who cause #asthmaattacks by their shady, greedy practices. These meds have been the go to for over 30 years, but these companies just keep coming up with more ways to extend their parents so that no generics can be made. Also, the greedy, backwards, #fda "retired" a bunch of inhalers last year that were eligible for generics because the get bribed by the #pharmaceutical companies too.
