One of the best ways to improve your deadlift is to learn how to build tension/tightness at the beginning of the lift. ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️
A cue for this is to ‘take the slack out of the bar’. This helps ensure that the position and setup of your hips, shoulders and bar position is locked tight, ready to go. ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️
In the above video there are two lifts. The first shows minimal tightness, which throws the lifter forward, in a jerky motion. Second shows a much tighter position, keeping the body upright and not breaking form or position. ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️

Contracted the plague on Saturday. Took the day off of work today to recover and stayed in bed until 1pm. By around 3 I felt alright to train, so I ate a little and went in at normal time.
Got surprised by this single at 515. Warmups felt great, but couldn’t hold my air and lost my brace in the hole. 405x8 moved alright. Kept the weight down because my aerobic capacity is bad for obvious reasons.

Oh and my nose erupted during warmups and I tasted blood all workout. That’s a first.
