#savethehoneybees did you know honey bees are considered super organisms? Their level of intelligence is positively fascinating, and their participation in the ecosystem is vital.
It's said that while this summer has been one of the most pleasant in decades for humans, it has been detrimental to the honey bees. Without humidity, flowers do not release nectar and therefore the bees do not have the key ingredient to make honey--which they need to survive the winter.
Typically, at this point in the year, hives can have as many as 40-45 POUNDS of honey; some beekeepers are finding their hives to not have a single cell.
Think about that.
