I found these 5 little boys and girls in the woods a few days ago, while walking Larry. I heard cooing and leaves ruffling and wondered if monkeys may be living around that area but then saw little bodies popping out from below some leaves on the ground. Their eyes were still closed so I thought maybe mama went to hunt for the day and she'll be back for her babies later. I spent the rest of the day and the next giving Larry 3 extra walk than usual just to check on them and if there would be a mother. On the third day of my visit, i noticed their eyes are opened and they were coming towards me. They were skinny and covered in ants! The black and white pup was so severely bitten, she had an ant biting her eyelid and was left with her eyes shut swollen. I don't know if they were abandoned by their mother or if some heartless loser had separated them from their mom and threw them deep in the woods. I'd like to think the latter.
I have been able to get 3 of the 5 siblings adopted and am now down to 2, which will be adopted out tomorrow. I am both very happy and sad to see them go but i am confident these will be in good hands.
This specific puppies discovery had a real good ending; but not all dogs are as lucky as these guys are. Bali has one of the most stray dogs population - which can be avoided with making sure our furry babies are spayed/neutered.
