“Good people do all of the things bad people do. It’s just that when they do them, they call it justice.”
First time to read a book by Laini and it’s so good! I like how she built the world of Lazlo. Had trouble knowing the name of the characters and cities, though. My favorite part was when they saw the city of Weep the first time, don’t want to describe it because the story of this novel somehow revolves around it. Reading this felt like I was the one telling the story, like in my own words! That’s how good Laini’s writing was. How I wished the last part didn’t focus on Lazlo and Sarai. I didn’t feel the chemistry or heat from them. It’s like I was watching a chick-flick movie and the actors were bad at acting, too scripted. All in all it was so good! Hoping for the next book to focus more on the problem of the city and other characters: Thyon, Eril-Fane, and Calixte.
