Alrighty here's part two of the PEACEFUL rant.
Okay, so a lot of shippers might be asking; how does soriel work? Well, I'll tell you.
1. Sans and Toriel are canonly best friends. There are so many hints that shows that they could even become more than friends. The first piece of evidence is that once you get to know Sans a bit better, Toriel is all he talks about. Even when he asks you, the player to have dinner with him. Secondly, Toriel is the only person that Sans has made a promise to. Heck, that's the only reason why Sans hasn't fought you yet. The third piece of evidence is the phone scene. This is at the end of the pacifist route when Sans and Toriel keep taking Toriel's phone and trying to impersonate the other. At first I didn't even know that it existed and I thought that it was a fanon ship-art thing. Knowing that it's actually canon puts a pretty powerful spin on shipping it. The fourth reason is that before the two met the other, and they were just knocking on the door, Sans spent almost his entire day with her, just making jokes. This means that he could have potentially developed a crush on her. The fifth piece of evidence is when the two first met. Whilst the shananagains with Alphys and undyne were going on, sans would not stop staring at Toriel. Papyrus looked at sans with a look that said "I see you there bro what chu doing?". Lastly, there is a part at the end of the pacifist route when Toriel tells Sans about how Frisk, the player has flirted with her. She then says "who would flirt with an old lady like me?" And is confronted with Alphys laughing and saying "oh Toriel, you have no idea." If Sans supposedly knows Alphys, there could be a chance that Alphys is implying the skeleton's crush on the goat. Alphys could even see him knocking on the door to talk to Toriel on a camera hidden in the bushes.
2. Age isn't a factor that prohibits shippers not to ship soriel. Monster's ages could be different, who knows? Sans only refers to Toriel as an old lady because he never saw Toriel and she refers to herself as one, even if she isn't. Most women over the age of 28 call themselves old even if they aren't.
