Hermione isn't actually ours, and she is going home this evening, but I thought I would introduce her anyway.
A little over a week ago I was at work and an email asking for hamster advice popped up in my work inbox. I was slightly perplexed because I don't usually get hamster emails at work, but I'm always prepared to help a hamster so of course I opened it and responded. As it turned out a colleague of mine had a hamster that suddenly had a bulging eye the night before, and although they called their vet the vet never called back because they don't treat hamsters. Since Hermione was about 2 years old they just weren't sure what was best for her.
I couldn't tell much without seeing Hermione so we agreed that Hermione would come over that night to see what was up. As it turned out Hermione just had an eye injury that needed some pain meds and infection prevention while it healed. We offered to keep her while she healed up and her humans decided that would be best for her.
Her eye is now healed (though doesn't look perfect yet) and she's ready to go home today! We did a small photo shoot with her last night so that her humans would have some good pictures of her and we would have something to post today! As you can see, she is quite the little model, and I think she probably feels like she just spent the last week at Pipsqueakery summer camp.
It was a pleasure to have you around Hermione and we are so glad you get to go home today! #hamster #guest #love #weeklyfluff
