Part ll. Point em out | Written by @leahtheone
Now, more than ever, America is starting to wake up and understand the political and racial conflicts that plague this country and impoverish millions of Americans daily. Instead of tuning in to the latest designer releases, we should be spending our money on afterschool programs to educate our children—especially when we know that the current education system is failing them. We should be buying our soaps, lotions, and haircare from black owned companies. We should be sending our dollars into black communities across the country. Because stronger communities are safer communities. Because smarter children mean an increase in the collective potential wealth of black people. Because wealthier communities are able to care for and PROTECT themselves so that images and statistics like those above become a thing of the past.
