I know the video is of horrible quality but I promise you the dancers are not. I used to see hints of my inspiration here and there sporadically and It use to bother me when I wasn't given the credit I felt I deserved. Lately, since sharing my work with the world through social media & with the world being even more connected through it- I see more & more looks, designs & choreo that are evidently inspired by something I've touched. Instead of being offended, I've grown so much as a person and as an artist, that it's humbling now and I have realized that validation isn't needed from outside parties. I know now that the gift God has given me is to be shared & appreciated by others too. This talent I was blessed with compels people creatively. They may not always acknowledge me or my team or my craft but that's fine because like the sun, you don't need to look at it directly to know it's there and you don't need it to announce it's presence. You feel it, you see it & no matter how much people will try to block it out or ignore it or cover it up- it's still there. People know. People can see. They can feel it. The sun doesn't need to be acknowledged to still shine, relentless and unforgiving- it does so whether you give it permission to or not. You don't need to credit the sun for burning you either, people will know just by looking at you.
