I have just been so inspired this weekend. Yesterday I watched the film 'Obama: The Final Year', about the efforts of his Foreign Policy team to try and achieve as much as possible in their last year in office (it's on Netflix). They focus on the humanitarian crisis in Syria, the Paris climate agreement, the Iran nuclear deal... They work so hard to try and make a difference, solve disputes through diplomacy instead of war, they see so much hardship - for instance Obama's Ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power. She is one special lady (with a special name), who fights tiredlessly for the rights of the 65 million displaced people globally. There is so much more we can do, so much more we must do. I will try and work harder to help change this world for the better - make it more fair and sustainable for everyone. Especially now, two years later and we see the progress halting due to Trump reversing some essential agreements. We can't look away, even it seems there is only a slight chance we succeed. We are obliged to use every advantage we have been given to support those who were born in a different situation. Thank you Barack and Michelle Obama and so many other visionary leaders for your inspiration. It's up to us. It's difficult, but we've created this society, so we can change it too. Every single one of us can influence their lives and surroundings in a positive way. And then one by one, like a wave, the sea of change ripples through... Yes we can.
