Need a quick meal? First heat the pan with fat! ( I used 1 tablespoon of coconut oil) Shred sweet potato using a cheese grater and put it in the pan with the fat, season with salt. Add in riced cauliflower which I bought from Costco already riced!! Dr. Weston A. Price is my hero. He was a pioneering dentist in the 1930’s who became concerned about the overwhelming dental issues his patients had. 😷

He began a voyage around the world to study traditional people groups outside of modern civilization to study their teeth, health, diet etc. He was sure he would find vegetarian communities thriving but he found quite the opposite. .

These people groups ate meat, animal fat, organ meats, fish, sourdough grains, properly prepared beans, nuts, and seeds, cooked or cultured vegetables, bone broth etc. He wrote his findings in the classic, Nutrition and Physical Degeneration. .

Traditional people groups had:

✅Perfect dental arches.
✅Straight teeth.
✅White teeth.
✅Healthy gums.
✅Healthy immune systems.

Biological dentistry reminds me of Dr. Price and his pursuit for truth. It’s holistic, comprehensive dental care. One of our local biological dentists shared with me a recipe for a mouth rinse that prevents infection, supports remineralization, and protects the alkalinity of our mouths. .

Some areas of our body were meant to be acidic (stomach) while others were meant to be alkaline (mouth, small intestine).

. 💦Baking soda mouth rinse from Dr. Pfister
.

Use after every meal or once a day

1/2 tsp baking soda.
1/2 tsp mineral salt (pink, Celtic, or @redmondrealsalt ).
4 oz water (spring or filtered). Combine all ingredients in a glass jar, cover and shake. Use as needed.

3 different ways I've made kefir, with the same results and delicious flavor - all batches used whole, raw or low-heat pasteurized milk and sat at room temp for 24 hours:
1. Kefir grains in a jar of milk
2. Kefir grains in a disposable OR reusable tea bag, in a jar of milk
3. No kefir grains at all, just a few tablespoons in a jar of milk

The tea bag trick I learned in Virginia from an old Russian lady. It's seriously nice to not have to strain out all the grains!
.
Same perk for the second one - I learned this from the coordinator of our cow share in Virginia - she has been making kefir for years and doesn't have any grains!
.
At the end of the day, I reckon if you have enough grains to get a batch started you can just keep using fermented kefir to keep your next batch rolling. I kept a daily batch going in Virginia for over a year with no grains, just a few starter tablespoons from a friend.

It's been a huge challenge to maintain a balance between what's best for me, what's best for the planet, and the animals I live here on earth with. As a consequence, I stubbornly avoided animal products for a long time - to my detriment, because I couldn't fathom living any other way. I've been slowly reintroducing these products for some time now and am noticing a difference. As a purely plant-based eater for many years, it's been a humbling experience to realise I need help from the animal kingdom to maintain optimal health. 🙏

Nutritious Nut Butter
•2 cups nuts
•3/4 cup coconut oil
•2 tab raw honey •1 tea sea salt

Place nuts and sea salt in blender/food processor and grind into a fine powder. Add honey and coconut oil and process until it becomes smooth. It will be somewhat liquid but will harden when chilled. Store in a airtight container in fridge.

An all-time favorite. I think I made this smoothie every day for months when we lived in Virginia, usually the banana version! Jakob was just a little guy and he loved it too!!
