Savia officinalis is a bit different than other veriations of the herb, because it contains more of Thujon. Thujon is the ingredient, that gives sage its healing powers. It is antiseptic agains bacteria, virusses and fungi and helps against inflammations in the mouth, throat and stomach. It also helps you when you have digestion problems and bloating, because it stimulates the bile flow. If you do sweat a lot, you could also use sage as an anti transpirant. Sage oil is more potent than the tea and you can use it ex- and internally. Just watch out because you may have to dilute it.
