🇫🇷🍷 A day with Axelle ❤️ you have to read my friends 👌 Winemaker from Château Croix de Labrie - Saint Émilion grand cru. October 2018. @lacroixdelabrie
We arrived in the middle of the post harvest period. it means that the moment is very important, it is the fermentation moment and the process that will lead to the barrel. Axelle Courdurié, who was not expecting us 😂, wondered how she could find time with us to present her wines. And the magic arrived. A sandwich around a table, a good bottle of Chapel Labrie 2012 and time suspended his flight. Axelle is a pationnée, in love with her profession, attentive to the details and the necessary control of all stages of the wine making process. Axelle, who bought the castle in 2012 with her husband Pierre, has greatly raised the standard and has succeeded in highlighting its successes ( it is the Pierre job 😃 ). the castle is coming back and will have to be followed in the coming years. Axelle and her husband Pierre have multiple small plots totaling 2.5 hectares. The parcels are at the heart of the AOC Saint-Emilion Grand Cru. The objective is to achieve a load per vine of 6 clusters and maximum densities of 6000 vines/hectare. The harvest is very selective and generates extremely low yields. Quality first 😘. The first wine, Château Croix de Labrie (100% Merlot) produces at best 4000 bottles a year. Then La Chapelle de Labrie (90% Merlot - 10% Cabernet) produces around 3000 bottles a year. And to finish Labrie's Hauts de Croix (85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc) with 6000 bottles a year. Note the vintage of their daughter Camille : Camille de Labrie 👧👍
‼️ Château Croix de Labrie : The talent, the passion, the courage, the precision, the excellence 🙏 My friends, if you can buy one these bottles now, do it, it is a Saint-Emilion Great vintage which moves and which produces wines that will be on the top for the present vintage in the coming years.
