Yesterday was Sadie's monthly oncology appointment that includes labs for a count check and a check up with her doctor. These appointments ensure that the cancer hasn't returned and that her body is transitioning to her new normal. It is also a time where we can discuss any long term effects from the chemo that could be showing their face.
The anxiety that comes on before these appointments is sometimes unbearable, but I am SO thankful that God continues to open so many doors that keeps us so busy! We truly hardly have time to think about it before the day is here. 🙌🏼🙏🏼 Overall, Sadie looks fantastic! Praise God! We had that awful scare on month 3 of being off treatment, which literally crippled me, so it is so wonderful to see her body settling into "HER". Her weight is starting to balance out. Although low for her age, her doctor said it is ok and that now she just needs to gain regularly. She grew an inch since last month! So awesome! ANC is still not great, but it never was for her and it's in the normal range. This is probably her normal. Her Hemoglobin is still low, so we will continue to keep an eye on it. Oh and her hair is growing fast and healthy!!! 🙌🏼💁🏼 She says she is never cutting it 🙆🏼🙅🏼 All in all, she is healthy and doing good! 🙏🏼🙌🏼🎗 She has some belly pain happening for the last 6 weeks, so she is keeping a food log, and she has developed pretty bad eczema on her hands and wrist that were addressed.
We are grateful and looking forward to an exciting weekend. School festival tonight for Sadie and I, while Grant and Shawn sit court side at the Mavericks game. Then ok Saturday, Congressman McCaul is coming to Dallas with a special surprise for Sadie! 💪🏼🎗 Happy Friday!
