This week’s athlete of the week happens to also come out of @crossfitsabalpark. Introducing @keckstein1! Katie is a CF Games regional athlete (both team and individual), and she has qualified for the women’s elite team division for @thewodapalooza 2018. She was able to answer some questions for us 😸
• What has been one of your favorite CF moments? “Qualifying for regionals as an individual. I had been on a team at regionals the year prior, but I wanted to put my abilities to the test to see if I had what it took to get there. It took 2 a days, late nights training, and many road blocks, but I was determined! I knew I had to give it my all during the open and luckily the workouts were mostly in my favor. I repeated workouts to get the best scores I possibly could, I cried, I yelled, and jumped for joy at times. I was finally able to prove that all the hard work I had put in during the off season was worth it. Being on that floor in Atlanta with the top athletes in our region is a memory I’ll never forget and something I’ll never take for granted.”
• What is your favorite workout/movement?
“I know everyone says they hate them, but burpees are my favorite! I don’t discriminate either... I love burpee box jumps, burpee Muscle ups, you name it! I always joke with my training partners, “burpees every day keeps the diabetes away!”
• What is your “spirit animal”?
“My spirit animal is the cat the rides the Roomba. I strive to be as cool as that cat every single day Lol!!”
