New Video on the YT==> #AlaskaBound Day 10- We drove from Hinton, AB to Dawson Creek, BC today. We took Highway 40, which was a pretty good drive. It’s advertised as the “scenic route” to Alaska, but really, there were only about 50 miles that were better than average. Once we got to Grand Prairie, the road opened up, and the area is beautiful.
Apparently, the fields around there are full of flowering Canola right now, so it made for some nice, scenic farmland. I don’t think Canola is the actual plant, but the end result.
We ended up at a Walmart parking lot in Dawson Creek. Before we called it a night, we drove another 20 miles or so up the road to a boondocking site on the old Alaska Highway, but the cell service was nearly non-existent. While there, we drove down to the Kiskatinaw Bridge, which is an old, rickety, curved wooden bridge…even drove across it!
After the extra adventures, we didn’t actually call it a night till almost midnight…Late, especially considering the farther west we go, the earlier we have to get up for our work.
