If you are approached by the people collecting signatures for the petitions out in front of grocery stores—PLEASE ACTUALLY READ BEFORE YOU SIGN. They are pushing this as “more training” or “healthcare for EMT’s” AND THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS IS. Please take two seconds to pass this around to anyone and everyone if you value your 911 responders #911 #emt #vote #voting #lies #amr #americanmedicalresponse #ruralmetro #ambulance #california #bayarea #mentalhealth #ems #emsworkers #gilroy #sanjose #readbeforeyousign

Just got off shift and will be heading to Tucson. Will try to meet with a schedule change committee from Tucson Fire who are considering 48s. Also hope to meet with some retired AFD chiefs who are now working for Rural Metro Fire. At the end of the day...Never forget who we serve, and always do it well. #tucsonfire #tucsonfiredepartment #ruralmetro #ruralmetrotucson #albuquerquefiredepartment #springbreak

So the numbers are in and after 4 hours and lots of miles of walking Firefighters from your Rural Metro Fire Department and Volunteers from the American Red Cross of East Tennessee installed a collective 79 smoke alarms in the Cedarcrest North subdivision.

In addition to the installs many homeowners visited with us on the new Fire Station 36 coming to the Halls Community, home fire safety and kids got to visit with fire engines and Fire Medic 230 as they toured the neighborhood during the 4 hour campaign.

Please remember if your smoke alarms are over 10 years old and even if they are wired into your home, the entire unit needs to be replaced every 10 years.
If your Knox County neighborhood is over 10 years old and would like to see a Smoke Alarm Walk Campaign in your area, please call our Rural Metro Fire Member Services staff at 865-560-0239 and ask to speak with one of our Fire and Life Safety Educators.
