Take Care Of Your Body

1. Sleep, sleep, sleep. This should be a top priority. Even higher on the priority list than nutrition or training. Without proper sleep your body cannot recover.

2. Take the time to get a massage. In the picture I am having a physical therapist massage my tight calves. If you cannot afford a massage therapist or physical therapist or just need something you can yourself invest in a foam roller. Research shows that foam rolling aids in recovery even more than an ice bath.

3. Seek help when you need it. Don’t let a small twinge turn into a full on injury. Listen to your body and see your doctor or physical therapist.

Hösten är inte bara vacker och härlig, idag var det kallt, mörkt, grått, regnigt o snålblåst. Då är det skönt att gymmet finns! 😅

Nu är det dags att sätta upp nya mål till nästa säsong. Jag vill bland annat bli starkare och förbättra rörligheten. Sånt som jag har nytta av i min löpning. Så gymmet och jag kommer ha en tät relation i höst/vinter 🤗❤️

6 miles in the pouring rain. 🌧 it’s 45° today, so it didn’t feel too cold. I really enjoyed this run and wanted to keep going forever. After my race this weekend, all I can think about is running and racing. I forgot how much I love racing. Luckily, I have two races coming up in the next month. As of right now, I’m planning on signing up for a spring marathon. Lately, school has been dictating my life—I’m ready to take it back & do what I love. 💖 Happy Tuesday! .

Miles and smiles in the fall sunshine! 🍁🏃🏼‍♀️☀️ 10 easy miles outside yesterday and back home from my trip where it was a blast but so coldddd! Glad fall is still around. I love fall running so much! .

With the New York City Marathon 11 days away, a lot of you have asked me how I’m approaching my back to back marathons. The short answer is I’m doing exactly what my coach tells me to do 😉. But the longer answer is to run smart and not overdue anything right now. 26.2 miles is a long way to run and I just came off of a big PR at the St George marathon (3:21 - 7:40 average pace) and I want to run New York well and stay injury free. .

I raced 3 races at the Runners World Festival this weekend as fast as my legs would let me go, and I’m happy with my effort, so this week runs are on the easy side and cross training like swimming and biking are very important. Jag har ett go to-pass som jag alltid tar till när jag ska springa intervaller och fantasin tryter. Ett pass som kräver väldigt lite tankeverksamhet men ger väldigt bra resultat. Det passet körde jag i morse!
