I love running and I love creating art, I do both everyday and I have worked as an artist for many years. But Running Paint is a new project and I sometimes find it hard to escape the excuses that I surround myself with, when it is time to present my work to the world. I use that beautiful excuse that I know a lot of us use: I am a perfectionist and it is not ready. This can encourage me to procrastinate by watching YouTube videos or doing something which is really not needed. The excuses I make are lies to cover up my fears. The truth is, I sometimes don’t know how, who or when to present my work or sometimes it is the fear of being judged or rejected from people I respect, and sometime it is fear of failing. The reality is these fears will never go away but to be truly passionate about something means overcoming the fears, believing in the passion, focusing on what drives you and believing you can make the world a better place. Don’t let a feeling rip you away from your passions and your dreams. I am sure all of the greatest achievers, athletes, creatives and anyone who is or has been successful from our planet Earth have had the same types of thoughts and fears.
Enough is enough. I have made my last excuse.
Yesterday when I was procrastinating, I watched one of Evan Carmichael’s amazing YouTube videos, where a guy said “I made my last excuse yesterday”. This really resonated with me and last night I started looking at some of the excuses I have made in the past and where they stem from. I feel empowered knowing right now (today) there is no reason why I can’t and no excuses I can make. It is still a daunting road ahead but I know my passion and belief is strong enough to handle it.
I will create an artwork around these words and post it on my Instagram.
@evancarmichael thank you for your great YouTube videos. I find them so inspiration.
The photo is part 1 of 2. Hopefully post to second tomorrow.
