W?D5 (one of these days I’ll look at my plan and actually figure out what week I’m on 🙄): 2 Miles up, 6 @ a really weird tempo: 7:49, 7:29, 7:32, 7:30, 7:17, 7:16, 2 down. I’m not sure where to go or what to do about these “tempo” runs. This isn’t even goal marathon pace. And honestly I’m not even sure if my definition matches with what a tempo run is. How do YOU do tempos?! Haaaalp

Let's talk about the weather & this hair👆🏽 for a quick second.I think it's fair to point out that St. Louis was the 2nd hottest city in the nation yesterday & today isn't looking to be much cooler. It's hot & the humidity is in full force. Suffocating, wet air😖 And my hair is taking the brunt of this nonsense. Us natural curly haired chicks cannot handle this weather. Everyday I look like I stuck my finger in a light socket and everyday the hair has to go up in a bun. I love when people get a rare glimpse of me with straight hair & they go "something is different about you🤔"....ummm yeah, I don't look like Roseanne Rosannadanna for once!!😆 (if you don't know who that is, please look her up so you get an accurate idea of what I'm working with).
Anyways, today's run was not that great. I had some hill sprints to tackle & I just really struggled to breathe. Not my best run & if it's humid like this next weekend for my race, I am screwed.😕 Happy Friday Eve, friends! We are so close to the weekend🤗

Your face when you're super excited to run with your cousin 😛. I basically died today. It was so humid and HOT as balls out there 😅. I completely sweat through my shirt and had to stop...but logged 5.75 miles (9:07 pace) <-- she was kind to me and was letting me set the pace, so it's all my fault for feeling like death 🤣. My body was like WHAT IS THIS?!?! Bring back fall!! Didn't go as far as planned, but I'm a-ok 👌 with that today! Your workout gear doesn’t have to be expensive or a fancy brand - it just has to make you feel AWESOME! Putting on workout gear that makes you feel beautiful will help motivate you to get moving and get that workout in when you are waffling! I still pick up most of my gear from Marshalls. First time running 2 miles since giving birth...which is a big deal to me! Running as a #newmom is a whole new ballgame. I'm still carrying an extra 10 lbs. from pregnancy. Even though I stayed fit throughout my entire pregnancy, I feel like I'm starting at ground zero with running. However, I'm hoping that my body will bounce back quicker once I start running more. It took over 9 months to grow a baby so I have to give myself plenty of time. #postpartumfitness

Far from perfect day for me. I was in no mood to come home and cook dinner tonight. So, out to eat with a beer and home with wine. I know I am off track with this, but mentally felt like I needed it. What I did do well is not order my favorite lobster mac n cheese, but opted for seared scallops over edamame succotash. It was so good!
Back on track tomorrow!
