Today was day one of Chicago Marathon Training and I crushed this run!! I was so nervous about my first speed day EVER on a track, but I am so happy with how well it went today. I did a two mile warm up, then 8 laps at a 5k pace with a 90 second jog in between, followed by a two mile cool down. I was dead by the end, but I did it (my splits are in my story)!!! I might end up loving track days after all. That was way easier than yesterday's hilly run. I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day!

#medalmonday feeling!😝 I received the shirt and the medal when I picked up my bib 😅 my husband told me: great , so we can go home again because that's all about racing isn't it? 😆 no! The medal just makes sense if you earn it. That's what it is. I could drop off anytime and come here and play at yeah! I did it. But that's not me. I earn it in one of the most difficult healthy conditions of my running journey. And that's what makes me proud. Deep down I knew if we give up once , that will become a bad habit and becomes easier to give up again. I wanted to wear it proudly, respectful for those who I saw running with physical debilities. It's a scene on my head : a woman running in front of me with deformed legs. Her knees were turned and no one of her steps were like mine or yours. I bet she never though in give up. So shouldn't we. #mondaymotivation : #idontthinklimits - @usainbolt . Looking today for it: 1.10 seconds slower than last year in complete other conditions. I won't think what if I had been at my best , but I am sure I will back next year because winterthur is a perfect place to get stronger special because of that : you're almost there at 16k 😂. The sunscreen and the prior days at swimming pool tanning my skin was an advantage to don't get like a 🦀 yesterday.🤣 but I need to work all my tan again😂 Despite all the hard moments with stomach cramps , I feel I was stronger than at zurich marathon . I felt for the first time ever I am no pussy at the heat. Indeed hard but not something that will set me back. Life is freaking exciting with running shoes !

Don't be fooled-I only lasted two minutes on this thing! It surprisingly worked the glutes-which didn't fly today because I did my heavy leg day yesterday. I'm in Nashville-enjoying the sun, the beer, the food, and this awesome gym! I've been able to get in 1.5-2 hours in here every day-which to some-probably doesn't sound like a vacation, but to me, it's perfect. I'm able to basically have free reign over everything and it makes supersets so much easier when I can hop to everything I need. I'm heading home tomorrow. I'll miss this place!! #iwishthiswasmine #flystyle #jacobsladder

My mojo was shot last week. 🖓🖓 Everything was hard and shitty. My legs were really sore from my 5k yesterday so I figured a good, easy run to help with the lactic build up would be a good thing! Did an easy almost 4, and loved running past all the blooming lilacs! It was so beautiful out.

My triathlon journey continues.
First. How am I to wear one outfit for all three sports.
Second. See the first concern.
Thirdly. In September I was only able to bust out 32 laps in the time Madelyn had her swimming lesson.
Well today. I busted out 50 laps in 28:53 minutes. I don't know if that is 'good' or not. But it's amazing for me and I set this goal and today I conquered it.
Anything is possible.

Despite being on a girls getaway in Palm Springs, I managed to complete my workouts 💪🏼 #pacerightcoaching

So on Friday I completed 60 days of Insanity Max 30. I'm down in weight and have re-defined my arms, legs and core! 💪🏻 Damn I love that program, AND Shaun T. There's just something about this powerhouse...he motivates you to be the best you can be. And he makes hard work FUN!

Picture from my last race. Happy to say, I beat my personal best by almost 2 min, my official time is 25:55⭐️ Overall I came 48th out of 581, and 6th out of 86 in my age category. I tried to run today for the first time since Tuesday when I developed bad hip pain. I made it about a half mile & the pain was too much. I decided to walk instead & finished 4.25 miles. I also walked my dog & biked 5-6 miles with my family. It was an active day even though I couldn't run. Time to focus on some rehab exercises. Icing now. Sigh. One year ago, I had just finished up a carb cycling + intermittent fasting program for runners. I slowly started to introduce both strategies into my running, and slowly + surely, I started to see increases in my running performance. This way of eating (I prefer to call it my daily fueling strategy) has helped me PR in the half marathon last year, and has also helped me get stronger + leaner, which also improves my running performance.
