Victory and course record in the second race of the weekend at Texas 10 Huntsville on a hot, humid, and hilly morning! Cruised through the finish in 51:55 on splits of 5:00 5:19 5:00 4:57 5:21 5:13 5:30 5:08 5:04 5:19. After shocking the system with 24:24 for 5 miles on the grass yesterday at Texas A&M, this was an excellent test of the grind the later miles of a marathon will require. Temps in the 70's, humidity in the 80's, and relentless hills (just look at those divergent splits!) really challenged me too. When Sacramento and the 2017 US Marathon Championship crank all those down in December, I will be ready!
