The irony of me working so hard to up my mileage in the hottest of months is that I have no marathon in the fall. The past two years I’ve had Chicago and boy, I’m still upset that I don’t have it this year. I’m not saying that my 4 mile runs are the greatest marathon training in the world, but I’m saying it’s more than I did when I was actually training. 😂 Sad, right? Today I was thankful for making myself run even though I was too scared to run this morning. I’m also thankful that my legs didn’t hurt and are seemingly over their mood swing. I still had to stop half way through today for a couple minutes. Something about the 75% humidity and cramps from a pizza lunch was making my run hell. The important thing is I got 4 miles done and even if I didn’t get anything else done today, that’s okay. 💁🏼♀️
Song of the run: Wait For It - Usher (Hamilton Mixtape)
I am not falling behind or running late.
I am not standing still, I’m lying in wait.
Everyone faces an endless uphill climb.
You got something to prove, you got nothing to lose.
Everyone’s pace is relentless, you waste no time.
