Somehow I made it to the end! 😁😭😂👊 A 20 min stretch/warm up and off I went. I felt a bit worried about the temperatureas it's soo warm, but I reasoned going slow and steady should keep me going.
The first lap and a half were great, I felt hot, but I carried on and kept my rhythm going. There was a really nice breeze and no one on the paths so I could concentrate on each 7min interval.
On the last 500m the breeze stopped and the park got really busy, I was weaving in and out of slow walking crowds and was finding it increasingly difficult to keep going. I felt a little light headed and decided to walk.
In the end I walked for 300m. I could have started running sooner, but I didn't have the energy and still felt a bit off.
I ran the last 100m. It wasn't a sprint, just a slow jog, but I still finished.
35 min warm down and lots of water and I'm now feeling back to normal.
I'm proud of myself for going out and running, I even had a few comments of "keep running" to focus on.
A bit of a mixed bag, but another 5k added on to the tally.
Plus I can now say I've run in 25 degree heat!
