"you're not here for clinic are you?".
"Yes, I am. I'm actually looking for doctor X's clinic...".
"But you're not here to observe/shadow/or whatever are you? I'm sorry who are you?".
"I'm the med student working with Dr. X today.".
"Yeah okay um. Do you have a white coat or dress clothes or something? You also look like you just woke up" the nurse says condescendingly. *Turns to other nurses with a confused look and smirk as if she's the leader of the mean girl group that existed at your stereotypical highschool*.
Just woke up? I wish that was the case. But no it's called being on call. I can guarantee you slept more than I did or ever will this week because you work outpatient hours. And yes FYI, I'm always prepared. My white coat and dress clothes are in my bag and I always change before going into clinic.
"Sure, I do. So if he's in clinic today, then I'm going to go ahead and change and head on back. Thanks! 😁" 😒 How would you have responded?
