Whenever I can, I try to create as much of a factory assembly line as possible on site. If there is a repetitious task that can be batched or performed in one single location then spread out across the job, I'm always trying to think like a factory floor. I ran production for a local factory out of college for just over a year, and I think it gave me a better understanding of efficiencies and how small time savings here and there add up to larger time savings by the end of the project. .
In this video I am pre drilling holes and setting 60d nails into all of our overhang tails that are mounted on our trusses. I can promise the amount of time saved here on the ground vs up in the lift is huge.
