Today is National Aboriginal Day up here in Canada, and as I'm in Victoria visiting friends, we went with her young son to the Royal BC Museum and enjoyed (in the first photo) a gorgeous First Nations language exhibit- apparently 60% of Canada's indigenous languages are spoken in BC! There was a wonderful interactive display (you can see Q pressing ALL the buttons) to hear greetings in multiple languages. I found these beautiful art prints to frame and hang in my classroom. In the second photo, you can see a curious and engaged little boy observing the different biomes and habitats found throughout the province. And of course, the famed woolly mammoth. I am constantly amazed by this child I'm lucky enough to know, and very grateful to both Q and his mum @ourmontessorilife for spending the day touring the museum with me.
