Some of the most basic events while flying can be the most satisfying. A smooth takeoff, crossing a checkpoint exactly on time, and a smooth landing, which when accomplished through good planning and technique (and occasionally good luck), always add moments of pride. And, as every pilot loves an audience, those events are most enjoyed when shared.
But on many occasions the pilot will find himself (or herself) alone and that's often when some of the most memorable moments seem to occur. Whether its your first solo or finessing the rudder with a gusty crosswind from the right to rise from the water without a trace of drift, your best performance invariably happens when nobody's looking.
