122kg snatch. This was after one of my patented ninja misses at 121kg (swipe). Both of these are probably the best technically-sound lifts I've ever done, which is good because it's also the heaviest weight I've ever lifted. 3 weeks out from a full release of my fascial energy stores.

This was hard. PR 205kg x5. First workout pushing front squat and it went ok. @juggernauttraining #virusintl @virusintl #roninweightlifting #bendyourknees

Junior Europeans was amazing. finish in 10th place and being in the A group in my first big international competition was great.
Even with my ankle injury from Nordic junior I was able to finish with 113 snatch with a good attempt at 116 and a 136 opener and a last glory attempt 146 for the junior Nordic recprd which just wasn't there.
Eliat was great and people there were amazing. Now it's time to prepare for the next big competition.

Yesterday I couldn't snatch 78 to save my life. Today I did the most routine clean and jerks at 100kg/220# I've ever done, and on the 2 min no less (cardio)

Weightlifting......🤷🙄 @burnscolin @juggernauttraining #roninweightlifting

"Hinging for Weightlifting". I have slowed down sections of the lift so you can see what's going on a little better. Hinging for weightlifting should not be about pushing to hips back, but instead about getting forward and maintaining proper foot pressure. In the first lift, you can see the hips don't push back excessively. Any work done from hang or assistance should lend toward strengthening this position. In the following two hang positions the movement is clearly initiated with shoulders and chest coming forward over the bar, the hips traveling only as far back as necessary. This allows you to keep pressure in the same spot mid foot and whole foot, while taking maximal advantage of the extension UP at the top. If you push your hips back and get too much into your glutes, there isn't enough leg use and there will be a loss of tension through the transition to vertical. You are also likely too deep into the heels and everything is behind the bar which will cause a backward extension and hips traveling too far forward making the bar loop. On hang work, think about making the bar "hang from your belly button" to give you an idea of being on top of the bar.

Snatch pull to hip/snatch deadlift. This is as useful for practicing the movement as it is for developing strength. Pressure should stay whole foot through the whole movement. Watch for wiggle in the shoes as a sign of shifting pressure. Relatively straight bar path from floor to hip. Keep pushing with your legs and shoulders should always be traveling up. At the top your hips should be more on top of your feet than hanging behind. The intended tempo should be the same as if you were going to snatch it. Here is a set of 8 with 170kg. First rep my hips took off a bit too much but then my legs started doing more work.

Last session at 75% before the meet on Saturday SoCal weightlifting. I feel slow but I'm not supposed to feel fast today, I should feel in control today, which I do, so come watch me be fast in Newport on Saturday! Or watch people better than me be faster and stronger.. or realize that you're in Newport and go do other things that are also fun and I'll see you after! 🍻

The hardest part of programming for yourself is being objective. You have to make the plan as if it's not for you, but someone like you. As soon as you make it about yourself, it's too easy to begin thinking you are an exception to all of the rules. "But I can do this". "I'm different". You may be able to, but It's not about what you can do, it's about what best prepares you to perform in a meet. My personal rule is, I can always reduce, but can never go above what's planned. Now, I write in times that it's green lighted to go heavier if it's there, but they are carefully planned, and it's not required. #roninweightlifting

Yes, training is going well. Looking forward to lifting on a platform soon. Yup, love my coach and my program. I will see you at Nationals next year. #everyquestionfiredatmetodaybecauseofredditdrama #idiots

I wasn't expecting much out of today from myself. This week's training got to me. I was more sore and tired than I've been in a long time.
But I clean and jerked 114kg/251lb for the first time ever, and combined with an 88kg/194lb snatch I improved upon my PR total from nationals with 202kg. I also went 6/6 for the first time ever. Arguably a bigger deal that any PR.
I remember my senior year in college when I started hitting NCAA 'A' cuts in season without a taper. It turned out to be a pretty big year for me. It's coming. I don't know what it is, but it's coming.
HUGE thank you to Lift Lab for the great event! My team had an absolute blast!! @burnscolin @juggernauttraining #roninweightlifting

Working the plan. Last month got a little dark but things are getting stronger. Closed out a 6/6 day with 130/135/140. Can't thank my coaches enough. #geestrength #roninweightlifting

Had a nice little tune up meet that turned into a big day. Things are coming together. Snatches. 106/111/115. #roninweightlifting #geestrength #oregonweightlifing

Been a great week with a huge finish with this pr at 110kg. #mastersweightlifting #olympicweightlifting #roninweightlifting

Probably the first "PR" I've had since nationals. 114kg/251lb for 5. I'm still beat from back squats on Tuesday, I can't stop sleeping 😴😴😴. Meet Saturday. I have no idea how I'll feel training through this one, but maybe I'll surprise myself.

"That was too easy"
Triple at 127kg/280lb.
Trust the process.

Guess I know my 6rm now. I really wanted those last 2 reps, but alas. I just wasn't strong enough. ☹️ #weaklegs #roninweightlifting #olympiclifting #olympicweightlifting #cardio #squats #grind #beterthanyesterday

Sometimes the weights just punch you in the d***. I wanted to try 183kg (403lbs) for a triple today, but my legs just didn't have it and I'm the worst at grinding out squats, so I got a single plus an ass kicking instead. BWT: 77kg (169lbs). @quinn.henochdpt you win this round 😤. (I talked shit all week about FINALLY beating someone at something! That noise at the end is me realizing NOPE!) #jtsstrength

Closed out one of the weirdest training blocks I've ever had with some PR 3+1 CJ @123kg/270lbs for a couple sets. Nothing about this month made sense. Never broke 75% on any of my squat work but crushed clean triples around 90%. 🤷🏻‍♂️ weightlifting is funny sometimes.

When you forget how to snatch for 3 weeks then your CNS decides to show up on a random Monday. 80kg/176lb for an easy double. Adaptation. Don't ask questions. 🙄

@burnscolin @juggernauttraining #roninweightlifting

Ohhhh so that's how you do it! This complex has been tedious (no straps allowed) but I'll take a 5kg PR on it. #goals #olympiclifting #olympicweightlifting #bellyshirt #broswholift #girlswholift #gymmotivation #aggressive #snatch #fitness #that70sgym #crossfit #clinicalathlete #roninweightlifting
