Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36
A true classic, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust was introduced in 1945 and had for the first time a window date that changed automatically - a real milestone and an innovation which Rolex, at that time a rather young watch brand, should make known.
Since 2005 there is this version I wear here already! Yes it is the version with 36mm diameter (!!) and 11.5mm height.
Can one still wear this as a man? Of course this depends on the wrists and the personal taste, but with my 17,5cm to 18cm wrists that works. But for me personally the lower limit of the portable, but thanks to the so called "Supercase" (100m water resistance) and the Oysterbracelet the Datejust feels more like a 38mm watch! Sure the Datejust is always an option for ladies and is definitely a unisex watch.
An eye-catcher at Rolex are always their sunburst dials, here a wonderful blue with the classic white gold markers.
Inside, the robust 3135 caliber with 48h power reserve does its job, COSC certified, but allowed by Rolex with maximum deviation of + 2/-2 seconds.
However, it can be assumed that at Baselworld 2019 this version will receive a small facelift (as always with Rolex - continuity is a recipe for success of them) - the new plant 3235 with 70h power reserve is expected - the new ref. should be 126200.
So a true unisex classic with which you can not go wrong.
