After a year on the road we finally experienced an overnight stay at a Walmart parking lot in Rock Springs, Wyoming. This was a couple weeks ago and while I've heard both good and bad stories about staying the night at Walmart, I have to say our experience was pleasant. I think it all boils down to the vibe you get and how safe you feel in a specific area. I first checked reviews, then called ahead to ask about running our generator (they said yes but we only ran it an hour when we got there and then again right before we left the next day). Since we got in late we pretty much just passed out. I had read decent reviews about this one and felt safe here. In fact, we both slept better than we had at the previous campground, haha. Everyone there seemed to be respectful, it was convenient for picking up some extra trash bags and tp, plus there was a Starbucks right across the way. Oh and we actually drank Starbucks but decided to get a shot with the mug too. We would recommend staying the night at this Walmart if you're passing through and just need a place to crash. It was pretty packed which made it feel like an RV park anyway, lol. Oh and a lot of people did have their slides out too, but we kept ours in. I've heard great things about staying the night at Cabela's so it will be interesting to check that out sometime. 🚎 Do you have any parking lot camping stories to share?
