I didn’t want to post these because I see all the flaws. But that’s also why I am going to post them. Because the difference in my work now and a year ago is astronomical. I will continue to make mistakes, and I will continue to learn new and better processes and techniques.
The thing I am most proud of about this particular table is that is has ZERO screws in it. That’s not important to most of you, but screwing wood together to make something is fairly simple, and I am trying to improve and hone this craft.
Each leg is placed in a half inch deep mortise on the underside of the table, and glued for extra support. Each leg brace is glued and secured with 3/8” oak dowels. The vertical piece of the legs are glued and tightly fit into the mortises on the top and bottom pieces. And it is one of the most secure tables yet! I will find hundreds of things on this that I wish I did better, but I’ve learned every step of the way, and I think it is 100x better than the picture the client sent me of what they wanted!
Stay tuned for final pics!
