A JAY Z STORY -
The year was 1996 about 22yrs ago I had been working at D&D studio for about 4years prior working my way up from an intern to engineer.
I came in and looked at the schedule and seen I was booked to work a session for a Roc-A-Fella. We hit Studio b where Ski, Jay and Jaz O would pace from room to hallway while I sat down and started to record Mecca for the hook on Reasonable Doubt “Feeling It".
That day we also recorded @khadejia1 for "Aint no nigga". During that time I never could have imagined I’d work on so many records that eventually became iconic hiphop records with guys that became legends in their own right. These memories have stood the test of time.
It was a time when music had soul in it, attitude, truth and texture. I pride myself in keeping true to some of the technics and workflows of my past and use the tools and practices of now to do my part in the creation of great music and the occasional film projects I get excited to collaborate on.
