Here in Brazil its possible to buy ALOT of different things conveniently on the side of the road. Back home in Australia our planning regulations dictate where things can be sold and vending on the side of the road is quite rare. By allowing this kind of buisness to take place, alot of people are able to sell their produce or items and make a living where a more traditional job may not be available to them. It alows people to work for themselves, such as those who have as a great recipe for a local dish but dont have the funds to open a store. It alows parents with kids who arent being looked after to work with their kids. People to old or with a disbaility who may not be physically able to work a different job can also work as a vendor. People can work the hours that suit them creating options for the public when traditional shops may be closed. Roadside vending adds to the streetlife and serves the public transport hubs well. Relaxtion of planning rules around roadside vending provides jobs and convenience to customers.
