Yay for getting ready in the morning when it’s still dark outside. 😐 It is actually taking me twice as long to get ready in the morning now with all of the layers of kit I need to put on, armwarmers, legswarmers, base-layers, head scarf, gloves, overshoes...It’s definitely not my fault I’m always late for work. When I started cycling I was missing a good few bits of kit that are actually pretty essential so I thought I’d run through the important ones.
1. ARM/LEG WARMERS - must have for Irish weather anyway. It can be very temperamental here so having the option to take on and off arm/leg warmers and shove them in your pocket is very useful. Mine are @gripgrab water repellent ones and they are lifesavers.
2. BASE LAYER - honestly it took me a year to get my first base layer and I don’t know how I got by without one. It gives you the option to add a layer under a jersey if it’s chilly out but not cold enough for a jacket. Also useful for races when the weather is a little bit cooler.👌The colourful number I’m wearing here is from @queenofthemtns 👍
3. GILET - Fancy word for and wind/water repellent vest you can easily put in your back pocket. I found this piece of kit is great for days you are some some climbing. You can keep it in your pocket when you’re climbing uphill and then throw it on to keep your core warm on the descents. I’ve one from @queenofthemtns that does the job perfectly. 👍
Hope this was useful. You have loads to add to your Christmas wish list or gift ideas. 🤗
