What an incredible skiing mission!
(caution: there will be a bit of the usual deep hanni yarn in this post) *
When standing on top of the Mt.Topheavy on Saturday, looking down to the Makarora valley, seeing the Tasman Sea out west behind the range of numerous beautiful mountain peaks, admiring the mighty south face of Mt.Brewster, getting ready for another ski down to its glacier, I could hardly get my head around of where I was and what I was doing - it still blows my mind how entirely my life and myself have changed in just three years, I kind of feel like a slumdog millionaire only that I am poor in money yet ruthlessly rich in happiness. *
Skiing down the entire glacier (which by the way skied like an absolute dream; just smooth silky velvety goodness turn after turn after turn) at the end of a wicked day of harvesting beautiful corn all around that wonderful playground sent goosebumps down my spine. Seeing our tracks all the way from the hut as the sun was setting and painted Brewster and Topheavy with the soft pink of alpine glow brought happy tears into my eyes. *
It was not just another mission ticked off the list, not only another dream that came true, but also one of those kind of experiences that makes me truly appreciate where I am and what I get to do, reflect it on where I have come from, feel grateful to people around me for all their encouragement and help (huge thanks to you all!) understand that I have been really lucky yet also realize that stubborness and naive dreaming are not just plainly bad qualities (although they were not huge help getting a driver's license - which I still haven't got) *
Mountains keep on delivering and I am looking forward to all the adventures to come! *
Thanks B-rad for this wicked mission!
