SKINCARE ROUTINE SERIES | Evening 6 🌙
-
As mentioned in my previous posts, I’m doing a mini series of skincare routines (not an usual thing for me as I find my routines consistent and boring) but here’s my latest PM routine:
-
1️⃣DOUBLE CLEANSE: 1st cleanse w/ #jordansamuel Plié – a small amount on dry face is enough for a pleasant massage; with damp hands I emulsify it while removing SPF & make up effortlessly; 2nd cleanse w/ my beloved sum:37 Rose Cleansing Stick: a low pH cleanser w/ fermented ingredients that cleanses my skin without stripping it 👌🏻
-
2️⃣PREVENT:
After cleanse, I apply #niod CAIS – a copper-peptide serum that should be applied before acid toners (as vestigial acid toner will "destroy" copper peptides). Copper peptides (not copper itself!) improves several skin basic functions and gives long-term antiaging benefits💙
-
⚠️[EXFOLIATION]: I only use chemical exfoliants every other night (max 4x times a week). Yesterday, I used #paulaschoice 2% BHA liquid, my 1st chemical exfoliant and still one my faves (great for congested and acne-prone skin)! I apply it w/ cotton pad, press onto dry skin (do not apply acid toners over damp skin) and (for optimized results) I let it do its job for 20 min.
-
3️⃣HYDRATE:
#larocheposay serozinc (not shown) before applying: #niod FECC on the eye area (watery-formula but packs hydration) and #niod MMHC all over my face/neck (now EMPTY); this hyaluronic powerhouse contains 12 hyaluronic complexes + HA precursor that stimulate HA production by your skin.
-
4️⃣CORRECT:
Medik8 10TR balm (1% retinol / light balmy texture) feels great on the skin and causes no irritation even when used daily.
-
5️⃣MOISTURIZE:
#biologiquerecherche Crème Masque Vernix: I use this mask (rich in lipids, proteins and antioxidant peptides) as night moisturizer; it recreates the protective layer on baby's skin at birth (Vernix caseosa – hence the Vernix name). It repairs & protects my dehydration-prone skin all night.
-
• Neck: #niod NEC: helps fading neck lines and increases firmness in that area
• Lips: #nuxe Reve de Miel balm
• Hands: #paulaschoice Resist Intensive Repair cream w/ retinol.

#Fromtheclinic Should I stop using #retinoids in summer? New video up on the channel addressing this commonly asked question❓🌞🏖 #drsaminthecity

😊 #skin #skincare #retinoid #retinoids #dermatology #nofilter

The gorgeous Rebecca Barker from @thebeautyinbox is talking all things brightening in the Irish Sun. Including retinol and our Retinol + NAG #retinoids #newskin #plumpupthevolume #brighten #neostrataire

From clearing up #acne to reducing fine lines, #Retinoids do it all. But is this ingredient right for you?

I've been using this range for the last week and really like it. The cleanser contains pH correct Lactic Acid plus antioxidants. The moisturiser is great too but I'm really impressed with the Triple Action Protector which offers three layers of protection and is TINTED. ✔️ #elizabethardenpro #skincare #retinoids #antioxidants

TIP - 5 Important Ingredients in Face Moisturisers to look for;
No matter your skin type or age, here are the five essential components that should be in your daily face cream in order to help you maintain optimal skin health. Make sure to double check that label before making your next skincare purchase!
#Sun protection: This should go without saying, but sunscreen needs to be worn daily — and ideally, you should be slathering on an SPF of 30 for the best effects. Sun damage not only causes wrinkles, age spots and broken capillaries, but it can also turn deadly. No excuses, ladies.
#Antioxidants: actually work synergistically with SPF to further protect your skin from damaging UV rays. Antioxidants also fight free radicals, which are small molecules that disrupt healthy DNA of skin cells and lead to premature ageing.
#Retinoids: Retinoids are a form of highly effective vitamin A and include over-the-counter products like retinol and retinaldehyde, as well as prescription-strength retinoic acid like, Renova or Retin-A. Retinoids are the most well-researched and understood anti-aging ingredient — yes, there are nearly three decades of medical research behind their effectiveness. Retinol stimulates cell turnover, which in turn helps increase collagen production, It also helps with fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. If you’re worried about how this ingredient may react with sensitive skin, know this: The newer formulas are formatted differently than the old ones, meaning that they can penetrate your skin on a deeper level and don’t cause as much irritation as older versions.
#Peptides: These chains of amino acids act as messengers, signaling your skin to set off a series of various reactions that can lead to collagen production and elastin stimulation, among other good-for-your-skin actions that help slow the physical aging process. They are most useful at night when the skin is in renewal mode because they heal and regenerate the skin.
#Hyaluronic Acid: It’s a humectant that keeps the skin hydrated by drawing water to the skin. When the skin is dehydrated, its natural exfoliating enzymes stop working, leading to a build up of dead clogging skin cells.

For anyone who can't get rid of adult acne 🙄 - try #Epiduo gel and you are guaranteed to forget about it forever! 😍😍😍 #prescribed#topical#retinoid#retinoids#prescription#prescriptiononly#medicine#skin#clear#fresh#complexion#epiduogel#magic#cream#skincare#acne#noacne#stopacne#acnevulgaris#medication#medicated#au#aussie#australia#beauty

#MaySkinChallenge - Day 16
👶🏼“Anti-aging”
Aside from sunscreen, if I would have to choose one anti-aging product I would definitely choose a retinoid.
.
▪️I use Retirides (Spanish Retin-A) with 0.5% tretinoin, 3/4 times per week. It's been a long way to reach this point, but for me, it was worthwhile. Have you ever seen the beautiful skin of a long term user of tretinoin? If you are curious, I invite to check ig @msmelissa55. She is been using it for more than 20 years! 😳 That's awesome. Definitely, I hope to use tretinoin for a very long time 👌🏻
.
▪️But truthfully, the best anti-aging product is SUNSCREEN, SUNSCREEN, and more SUNSCREEN! For me, this is a universal law. We can spend a large amount of money in anti-aging treatments, but if we don't protect from UV rays, we'll be aging prematurely. That's a fact. Sun is the number one cause of skin aging. And is very easy to avoid this damage: use sunscreen. Apply a very generous amount. Reapply it generously. Make sure it has a minimum SPF of 30 and broad spectrum protection against UVA. Grab a sunscreen which you feel comfortable with and use it. It will be your best friend for anti-aging 👶🏼

#exfoliate #retinoids #enzymes #chemicalpeels just choose what works for you or do them all😊

1. #4. Retinol/Retinoids. According to dermatologists these products are their go to choice to prevent or treat the aging process. Start on a low dose retinol 1-2 times a week at bedtime and increase as your face can tolerate it. Retinol is a weaker, over the counter version of tretinoin(Retin-A). These products decrease fine lines, evens skin color, improves texture, tightens pores, and stimulates blood flow and collagen production. Just rememeber PEELING IS HEALING. You could have very dry skin for a while but that is what we want! Then you can start using more powerful ones to see even more improvement. It's can take 3-6 months to really start seeing results. Also, these products can cause photosensitivity(sunburn easily), so always cover up with some good sunscreen and hats. DO NOT USE WHILE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING. #lovetheskinyourein #restoreyouryouthfulappearance #skinceuticals #retinols #retinoids

#SkinTipTuesday If you're considering having any type of peel and already include Retinoids in you daily skin care routine it's important to discontinue their use several days prior to your planned peel as Retinoids can enhance the penetration of the peeling agents -increasing the risk of adverse side effects. They can then be resumed post peel after all the evidence of peeling and irritation subsides 🤓🤗

SKINCARE ROUTINE SERIES | Evening 2 🌙
-
As mentioned in my previous posts, I’m doing a mini series of skincare routines (not an usual thing for me as I find my routines consistent and boring) but here’s my latest PM routine:
-
1️⃣ DOUBLE CLEANSE: 1st cleanse w/ #clinique Take The Day Off Balm (SPF and makeup slayer) + few drops of #demamiel Clemasing Dew (that elevates the sensorial experience to the other level). Both emulsify and do not sting my eyes. Second cleanse w/ Cleansing Dew (love the blue tansy scent) and I’m ready to the next steps.
-
2️⃣ PREVENT:
After cleanse, I apply #niod CAIS (one of my fave serum of all times 💙; I’ve raved about it countless times - see older posts); copper peptides (not copper itself!) help improving several skin basic functions + long-term antiaging benefits.
-
🚫[NO EXFOLIATION TONIGHT]
-
3️⃣HYDRATE:
💦#niod Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist (not shown) as an extra layer of antioxidants + moisture before applying: 💦#niod FECC on the eye area (watery-formula but packs hydration) and💦#niod MMHC all over my face/neck (feels like water, not sticky, a hyaluronic powerhouse w/ 12 hyaluronic complexes + HA precursor that stimulate HA production by your skin). Almost empty but I already have the new MMHC2 waiting - #1empty1newbie 😉
-
4️⃣CORRECT:
Medik8 10TR balm (1% retinol / light balmy texture) feels great on the skin and I’m considering to buy the full-size and alternate w/ the 2% retinoid by The Ordinary.
-

5️⃣ MOISTURIZE:
Powerful combo: #stratiaskin Liquid Gold + #paulaschoice Calm Serum, which results in a moisturizing-serum hybrid, rich in ceramides, skin-soothing and skin-nourishing ingredients. Love it 👌🏻
-
• Neck: I always thought that neck cream were gimmicky (and used my face lotions&potions on my neck) but #niod NEC does “things” that my facial moisturizers cannot do: it helps fading the annoying lines in my neck are less visible and the overall firmness is increased :O I wish I could cover my entire body w/ this! • Lips: #nuxe Reve de Miel balm
• Hands: #paulaschoice Resist Intensive Repair cream w/ retinol (great face moisturizer during winter but now is too rich on warmer days so I must finish before it expires).

SKINCARE ROUTINE SERIES | Evening 1 🌙
-
As mentioned in my previous posts, I’m doing a mini series of skincare routines (not an usual thing for me as I find my routines consistent and boring). Nevertheless, here is yesterday’s PM routine:
-
1️⃣DOUBLE CLEANSE:
1st cleanse w/ 💦#jordansamuel Plié: I apply a small amount on dry face, massage it, then damp my hands and keep massaging my face while Plié emusifies and removes all the SPF & make up (w/ the exception of my stubborn eyeliner; I must mention that Clinique TTDO balm is more effective removing it); still, I’m obsessed w/ Plié’s ingredients and performance (it’s also a great "skin cleanser" and can be used as a mask). 💦2nd cleanse w/ my beloved sum:37 Rose Cleansing Stick (old fave): a low pH cleanser that cleanses my skin without stripping it; I don't care for the rose scent (it contains real rose petals) but I still use it - that's how much I like it! Its format is great for traveling and lasts a long time.
-
2️⃣PREVENT:
After cleanse, I apply #niod CAIS – my fave copper-peptide serum (and yes, it should be applied before acid toners; if you prefer to apply acid toner first, you can but then you must wait at least 30 min before applying CAIS or vestigial acid toner on your skin will "destroy" the copper peptides function). There is a growing amount of studies about copper peptides (not copper itself!) and how they help improving several skin basic functions + long-term antiaging benefits. For more details, please check my previous post about CAIS.
-
• [EXFOLIATION]: I only use chemical exfoliants every other night (maximum of 3x - 4x times a week). Yesterday, I used #biologiquerecherche P50W, which I use once a week. I love this blend of AHAs (mainly lactic acid) and BHA but I do not know the precise concentration of each acid in the formula but P50W is a gentler version of the original P50 formula. I apply it on cotton pad and press onto my skin (be sure that your skin is not damp when applying acid toners). I usually let it sink in for 20 min for optimized results. You can move on without this waiting time but exfoliation results will be better if you wait. why?

@111skin Celestial Black Diamond Retinol Oil, combines cold pressed oils and powerful anti aging ingredients to give you younger looking skin without the dryness or irritation 👽

Recent studies have shown that we actually acquire more toxins through skin absorption and inhalation than we do through the foods that we eat. ✨Do You Know What’s in Your Products?✨ This makes our personal care products a big contender in our overall health and well-being. If you feel like you are eating healthy and taking the right supplements but still lacking in energy or having health challenges, take a look in your bathroom and see what is in all those products that are used daily. ✨Did you know that we absorb 60% of what we put on our skin.✨ Below is a quick guide to what 'SHOULD' and 'SHOULDN'T' be in your products..... 🌸 4 key ingredients you want to have;

1. Stabilised Vitamin C.
This is a powerful antioxidant which helps stops free radical damage to the skin.

2. Alpha Hydroxy Acids.
Exfoliates the skin and helps to stimulate new cell turnover, allowing new skin to appear quicker.

3. Peptides.
Helps with Collagen production.

4. Retinoids.
This is made from vitamin A which boosts collagen production and also helps with pigmentation. 🌸 3 ingredients you want to avoid;

1. Mineral Oil.
This is actually a bi product of petrol and acts like cling film on your skin, not allowing any good ingredients to be absorbed into the skin. It can also come under many other different names, such as....PETROLEUM, PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM, PETROLATUM.
2. Parabens.
These are chemical preservatives that can be damaging to the skin.

3. Sulphates.
These can cause skin irritations and overtime, dehydrate and damage the skin causing it to age quicker.

If you need any help with choosing the best products for you please feel free to drop me a message 😘

◾️
I have tried Differine for its antiaging effects, to compare with retinoids because I am afraid of the peeling of prescription ones. I used it for 2 months, 3 times a week, I did not peel much and I have noticed an improvement on my white heads on my nose and chin, but my skin got terribly sensitive even a mask hurt! I really wanted to like it but this is not for me! Have you tried it? ◾️

The one thing that makes studying better = FOOD 😄
I have the last of my finals today so this morning has consisted of lots of coffee, oatmeal, and last minute cramming 😅
Wish me luck❣️
