This may just look like a picture of my dog, my sweet sweet baby Boo Dog, but more than that this picture is of my dear, and incredibly compassionate future husband who is holding my dog.
Tonight Carl and I witnessed a baby deer get hit by a van as it ran behind its mother across a very busy road in Grandville, no it didn't die instantly 😢 it was the most horrible thing I've ever seen, and my heart just broke 💔😭 Carl turned around immediately and without hesitation to help get the baby deer out of the road, and he ultimately had to put it out of its misery, it's spine had been broke and it couldn't use its legs.
I watched in the rear view mirror of our car as my fiancé knelt down next to the scared, helpless little animal and he stroked it's fur trying to bring the baby some sort of sense of calmness. Expressing the idea of "it's going to be okay" to a traumatized and helpless little animal couldn't have been easy to do. 💔
As sad as I am for the little spotted deer, he is no longer in pain anymore, and I'm so overwhelmed by the idea that there are still decent and compassionate people like Carl left in this so often corrupted world. He cares about not only other people but about the animals that we share this world with. His heart is so huge, if everyone was a little more like him this world would be a much better place.
