Breaking News! (#nopunintended)... I found a sweet deal on black, platform #mj air-pump boots at the nearest department store. There was only ONE left, so I snagged it right up.
REAL TALK though ... at the beginning of May, I developed a compensatory injury in my heel area (from a previous toe injury). Being a tad stubborn, I pushed it too long (a month to be exact... not knowing what it was) and it developed into a pretty nice, deep little 2.3cm calcaneal/heel fracture. I have been in this cute boot for 3 weeks now (I have been holding out on you all due to fear of actually admitting it was real, and also was pretty upset), and have about 3-4 more. I have been training for an epic #swimrun race (@otillorace) in September, and it is clear that the running is on pause for right now. BUT, it has been a blessing in a lot of ways, and one of those has been my continued reconnection with swimming. I have never felt better in the water, and hey, I can even start biking and lifting this week! Not giving up.
Injuries suck, but they are not the end of the world. Be angry, mad, frustrated, and cry/talk it out with those whom you can trust. Then get a plan and move forward. Easier said than done, and you will have your days. But look at the silver lining of the situation, and it will likely end up to turn #golden.
