A genuine request to all the guys involved in Rescues of snakes, please let's be rescuers first and avoid showmanship as much as possible.
Luckily I have no one on my friendslist who does that, but most of these renowned ones you get to see on YouTube or other platforms, People waste so much time just showing off and posing etc.
These could be a few precious moments whereby the snake could be under so much pressure or trauma. A job that could be done in 5 to 10 mins at Max is stretched to 20 to 30 mins in which the rescuer poses and shows off his skills about how he can control a venomous being.
Especially in cases of cobras, they put them down and purposely annoy them so that they spread their hood to get a good pic, kissing the head of the snake etc just for a good picture to show off their manhood. This is Infact so misleading to the youngsters who would try to imitate for sure.
Showmanship isn't gonna help save lives. Especially if it's an injured snake, immediately shift it to the nearest vet and get the treatment started. Getting the perfect shots or angles is not the part of our purpose, saving lives is.
No matter what the snake is, you will never see me waste time around there posing and wasting time. Once the snake is in, I usually spend less than 2 mins in giving a lil knowledge about the species of snake and thank them for calling before l leave.
There's no place for showmanship as a rescuer. Rescuers save lives, each minute wasted sometimes is dragging the animal towards death slowly. Please don't mix the both, please.. #snakes #SnakeRescues #cobra #spectacledcobra #snakesinthegrass #snakeskinbag #snakesofinstagram #wildlife #reptile #reptiles #reptilesofinstagram #venomoussnakes #SavingLives #savingliveseveryday #savinglivesonedayatatime #EveryLifeMatters #mangalore #Mangaluru #savesnakes
