Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. —
I’m not huge on sharing body transformations because I never see dropping pounds as an end goal in itself; but I am making an exception today to celebrate my client & friend, James @uncle_jim. .
START 🔨: James and I met in July 2017, post surgery for a shattered left elbow, under the referral from @pauldoopt at #ufitclinic.
Fresh out of a sling, James had very limited elbow mobility (less than 90 deg flexion)… . And zero experience in sports or conditioning.
SECRET SAUCE 💯: But James had one very important asset - his mind. .
WHY ARE YOU HERE 🤵🏻👰🏻: James was marrying the woman of his dreams in 5 months - and had no room for error. .
HOW 🍷❌: We dialled in his nutrition, began with eliminating alcohol, counting macros and a boat load of aerobic capacity training & isometric strength work. .
THE BOOST 🚀: When his progress stalled, we added intermittent fasting. His first meal was at 12pm, and last was at 8pm. .
THE KEYS 🔑: Worked closely with the clinic, and featured @strongfit1 principles heavily to make sure we didn’t create additional structural damage
I’m most grateful for the trust he’s placed in my hands to help him through this process. If you asked me why he’s had so much success, it is in the ‘little things’ - he’s never once late, never cancelled a session regardless of how tired he is, always gives his 100% and then some. Best of all, he does this consistently - regardless of the circumstances in his life. I will always remember the one time he stumbled in after his stag in Bangkok, battered and bruised after horrifically being left stranded overnight at the police station. Dude turned up early, positive and excited to get back on track. Once in a while, you meet someone who reminds you why you fell in love with your profession - James was my someone this year. —
