Do you ever expect the people closest to you to just know what you really want?
Or does the idea of this sound insane to you?
These days I'm fairly vocal and explicit with what I desire. But I didn't used to be.
My earlier self expected others to be able to read my mind and just know what I needed from them. .
Not only that, I didn't realise that different folks show love in different ways... It's the intention rather than the behaviour itself that matters most. .
No action inherently means I'm loved or appreciated, but that it's my choice to perceive that in all actions. And in the absence of the actions i had previously associated with love.
I've been reflecting on this today whilst I'm caring for my sick hubby. .
One of the blessings of marrying someone who has had such contrastive life experiences to me is that it helps keep me sharp in remembering: we're making it all up! We create our experience of life. .
