Easy as! I don’t think I lost any sleep at all, although my wife seemed a little tired at times. ✈️How was no sleep and cleaning up poo initially? Don’t lie. All good, I had dealt with babies previously, so it didn’t worry me at all. ✈️Got any practical solutions for other dads? Learn how to burp a baby properly, it will save you from a lot of crying. ✈️Do you wish someone had given you a baby essentials pack rather than guessing your way through supermarket missions? I
f it was just me, then yes, but my wife was all over it. She is a pro! ✈️Do you have a sad or scary story you’d like to share about parenting?
When Melanie was 3, we were living in Sydney, all we could afford was a little house in a pretty dodgy suburb out near Bankstown. Mel slept on a mattress on the floor in her room, and one morning we woke up to find her bed empty, not unusual as kids get up pretty early so we casually looked around the house for her and after a few minutes we started to panic really, she was no where to be found!! We checked the yard, all the rooms, the car even. Renee was running up and down the street looking for her and by this time we were all pretty stressed, and Renee was very upset. We were all running around the house yelling out her name and were getting to the stage of calling the police when I rechecked her bedroom for the 10th time and found her…. she had fallen between the mattress and the bedroom wall and was fast asleep with her doona making it look like the bed was empty!! Its funny now but was pretty scary at the time! ✈️Do you have a funny story? The above story is funny now! ✈️What’s the best thing you love about parenting? Seeing the kids grow and experience things for the first time.
